Canada was giving a gift today: we are able to watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report one hour earlier than the USA. Canadians can thank CTV for purchasing Conan to air at 11 pm on Comedy network, and by the same logic that Conan, Colbert and Stewart used for their famous “Who made Huckabee” feud, Canadians should also thank NBC and Jay Leno.
Because of this, Canadians were given a ‘sneak preview’ to the response to the Restoring Truth rally movement on the internet. What was that news? Not much more than a huge tease. Jon Stewart announced that he will have a big annoucement, and implied that the Moment of Zen was a clue (a video collage of rallys and large gourps of people being chased by bulls._ Colbert announced that he will not be out-announced by Jon Stewart, will fight back with a BIGGER announcement, an announcement that he will.. have an announcement… all with the help of a grey goose and some Grey Goose.
Now nothing has been said or confirmed; however, I would think that both Stewart and Colbert would not be so cruel to tease in such a way unless they were seriously considering doing something big. A rally on 10/10/10 perhaps?
I can only assume that they are biding time for logistics and to thoroughly think this through to see what they can or cannot do. I suspect that they will drag this out for at least a week until all their ducks are in order. It will be tortuous, but I will enjoy every second of it.
